For the perfect holiday getaway, 6 Bluestone Point is on the outskirts of Mortehoe, a charming village on Devon’s north coast. Positioned approximately 10 miles northwest of Barnstaple, it is nestled close to Woolacombe and Lee Bay.
The village is set within a picturesque valley surrounded by rolling, dune-like hills, just inland from Morte Point and overlooking the seaside area of Woolacombe. The village has a host of lovely tea rooms and lively pubs and is located on the South West Coast Path where you can access places such as Bull Point.
The Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe offers a fantastic array of shops, pubs, and restaurants to explore. Its picturesque harbour is home to Damien Hirst’s striking 66-foot bronze statue, Verity. Standing proudly at the harbour’s edge, Verity is on long-term loan to the town and has become a must-see landmark.
From Easter through October, the MS Oldenburg departs Ilfracombe for Lundy Island, the largest inhabited island in the Bristol Channel. Additionally, various boat trips along the coastline provide opportunities to admire the stunning scenery and local wildlife.
Ilfracombe harbour is a haven for fishing enthusiasts, offering spots along the rugged coastline, off the pier, or aboard daily deep-sea fishing charters.
The trendy village of Croyde is a must-visit destination, renowned for its stunning sandy beach that draws surfers from around the globe. Beyond the waves, the village charms visitors with its charming but “oh so cool “appeal, featuring picturesque thatched cottages, cozy pubs, inviting bistros, and traditional tea rooms.
